Core Programs
Worship: Services of worship are held each Sunday:
8:30 a.m. Worship Service with Holy Communion, Traditional Order of
Service, Full Liturgy, All Appointed Lessons, & Organ-accompanied
Hymns.
10:30 a.m. Worship Service with Holy Communion, Emphasize
Spontaneity, Abbreviated Order, & Focus on Child/Family Involvement.
(Nursery care for children 4 years of age and under is available.)
Children’s Church is provided from September through June at 9:30 in
Brostrom Hall. Children rejoin their parents for Holy Communion.
Holy Communion: Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday at
the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. worship services.
Children's Sermons: A children's sermon is typically provided
at the 10:30 family oriented worship service. If you would like to

Education: Sunday Spirit is a Biblically-based Sunday
School program following the 9:30 a.m. worship service, for children
3 years old through 5th grade and is provided from September through
June.
Vacation Bible School is an exciting program of Bible and
faith for children 3 years old through 5th grade. VBS is held each
year at the end of June.
Adult Forum is a discussion based study held after the
9:30a.m. worship service each Sunday morning. The topics are chosen
from the varied interests, knowledge, and concerns of the
congregation.
Service: Trinity has a history of taking action against
hunger.
- We have made semi-annual trips to Tijuana, Mexico brining food
and supplies.
- Each week to provide 90 sack lunches for the working poor and
homeless who come to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gardena,
California.
- The congregation is participating in the Make Hunger
History campaign sponsored by Bread for the World.
- We support the Lutheran World Relief Coffee Project (check
www.lwr.org/coffee for
details) by selling Fair Trade coffee once a month at the church.
Through this we help to provide sustainable wages for small-scale
coffee farmers in many countries.
- Each Fall Trinity sponsors an Alternative Christmas market.
The market offers items made by crafts people in Third World
countries who are paid a living wage for their products.
T N T - Thursday Night at Trinity
“Thursday Night at Trinity” is our weekly program for youth that
consists of choir, Bible stories, singing, play and dinner. The
program is on the same schedule as the Manhattan Beach Public Schools
so each trimester is about 12 weeks.
CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH CHOIRS: Choirs for 4 year-old through
12th grade are a part of TNT. The choirs are focused on preparation
for participation and leadership in worship and worship leadership.
Each of the choirs are taught of variety of anthems to be sung as a
part of the Sunday worship service. The Youth Choir includes middle
and high school year, performing during worship services and for
special events.
An Alumni Choir, made up of college students, performs during our
Christmas morning service.
BIBLE STUDY:
- Kids of the Kingdom is a creative program for 4 and 5 year
olds, introducing children to God through the guidance of caring
adults.
- Joyful Noise & New Creation (for 1st through 6th graders) is a
program of Biblically based stories and activities. Music, arts
and crafts play an important part in the learning.
SPRING MUSICALS: All children in the Joyful Noise & New
Creation choirs are eligible to participate. The Youth Choir also has
a Spring Musical.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
Seekers in Sneakers is our 3rd-5th grade youth group,
featuring events about once a month.
Trinity’s Middle School Youth meet after Sunday morning
worship, September through June, and have a monthly activity.
- Special activities include mini-golf, bowling, beach fun,
November Youth Gathering and more.
- Each month, one service project.
The 9th through 12th group meets Sundays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the
Youth Room for Bible study and fellowship (September through June).
- Many special events including helping with VBS, beach trips,
winter snowboard retreat, conventions and summer road trips.
- A Holiday party for foster kids is sponsored each year through
Trinity’s Youth and Family Minister.

ADULT CHOIR
Trinity’s Adult Choir leads worship each Sunday morning, September
through June. The Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
KEENAGERS
Keenagers, a fellowship, service and study group for seniors
meets semi-monthly from September through May, with presentations and
discussion.
PRE-SCHOOL
Trinity Lutheran Church Pre-school accepts any child between two
years, six months and five years of age who is physicall and
emotionally ready for the pre-school experience. All chidren must be
potty trained.
The goal of the school is to provide experiences to stimulate the
child’s interest in God’s world; to provide an environment where each
child can develop his or her physical, emotional, mental and social
capabilities to his or her full potential. Cognitive development and
communications skills are emphasized.

SMALL GROUPS
Stay at home parent group A once a month lunch and fellowship
time for stay at home parents and children. Times are announced in
the weekly bulletin.
Small group discussion for families with children An evening
gathering of families with young children for a ‘book discussion’ of
topics of importance to families. Children are welcome and invited.
Fall discussion: Raising Non-violent Children in a Violent World.
Meetings are held in member homes and times are announced.
COMMUNITY MUSIC PROGRAMS
Trinity Lutheran Church hosts three classical music series,
presenting approximately 25 concerts during its season. The regular
Concert Series,
with a variety of musical performances throughout the year; the
noontime
"Bach’s Lunch Recitals"
on first Fridays from October through June; and
"The Previews,"
on third Saturdays from August through May. The latter features
musicians who will perform at the Beverly Hills Public Library
"Sundays at Two" recitals.
RETREATS
Trinity schedules two congregational retreats each year:
- A women’s retreat held each fall
- An open retreat each Labor Day weekend
