Dear Parents,

This year Trinity has joined forces with Heal the Bay and the California Costal Commission to host Trinity’s second annual Beach Cleanup Event.  The clean up will be on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 9:00 – 11:00 at El Porto (North Manhattan) beach in Manhattan Beach.  We are very excited about this unique opportunity for your family and friends to learn about ocean pollution and how to be part of the solution.  We hope to see you there!

Some things you need to know. . .

All families and friends who want to participate will meet beginning at 9:00 on El Porto beach near the swings and refreshment stand. Don’t forget to wear your Trinity tee-shirt!  Metered parking is available in the lot off of 45th Street.  Instructions on how to clean, along with the necessary equipment will be provided.   The cleanup will be cancelled in the event of rain only if it is a steady downpour.

Heal the Bay requires all participants to sign a waiver of liability and assumption of risk form.  A copy of the waiver is attached to this letter.  A separate waiver must be signed by each participant.  All children who wish to participate are welcome, but must have the express permission of their parents.  Parents are exclusively responsible for the health and safety of their children at all times.  You may complete the waiver in advance and return it to the preschool office, or you may bring it with you the day of the cleanup.

Please let us know you will be attending so that we are sure to have enough gloves and trash bags for everyone.  Please contact the preschool office at (310) 379-7413 or tlc-preschool@earthlink.net, or Andrea Custer at andreamcuster@gmail.com with any questions you may have, or to RSVP.

You are also invited to attend . . .

A special informational presentation will be held at the preschool on Wednesday, Nov. 5th.  Heal the Bay staff will be discussing ocean pollution, its causes and ways to be part of the solution.   All parents are welcome to attend this presentation with their children.

We will see you on the beach!
